Aqua-Life’s Dual Tank Water Softener system is a water softener combined with a complete mineral tank of High Activity Carbon (HAC), Solid Carbon, and ion exchange resin. It consists of two fiberglass (Poly Glass) tanks and a brine tank that uses salt (sodium). The Pre-Carbon tank not only reduces undesirable tastes and odors present in the water supply but also prevents issues in the water softener that can be caused by high chlorine levels. When water with a chlorine level of 1.00 ppm or higher passes through the water softener, the chlorine oxidizes the resin beads. This oxidation affects the softening process and cuts the lifespan of the resin in half. By installing an HAC (High Activity Carbon) Carbon Bed, you can achieve excellent results in reducing high levels of chlorine from your water supply.
