What is Reverse Osmosis?
When solutions with different concentrations are separated by a semipermeable membrane, water from the lower concentration solution moves toward the higher concentration solution over time, creating a difference in water levels. This phenomenon is called osmosis, and the resulting pressure difference is known as osmotic pressure. When pressure greater than the osmotic pressure is applied to the high-concentration solution, water moves toward the low-concentration solution. This phenomenon is called Reverse Osmosis.
